Maple Gate is pretty good to deal with, Kyle and Jamie are decent to deal with. Never heard of any payment issues and we do a good bit of freight with them now and again.

Alert! Related to Maple Gate Freight Systems Inc. & Maple Gate Logistics. Earlier today we got an email from them, signed by John Stanley, advising that company/ies no longer running and winding down.

Currently, we got several unpaid invoices for consolidated trailers moved by our clients to and from California. That is over 40 LTL shipments that we are seeking payments for. All subject to the period of November 2017.

Our intentions are to proceed with collections relying on BOL Act. If any of brokers on this forum have dealt and continue dealing with Maple Gates and are related to any California and surrounding areas LTL shipments subject to period of November 2017, be on alert that we are seeking payments.

" Maple Gate Logistics is temporarily stopping operations on our California service by choice. Its just not a profitable venture for us. Maple Gate Freight Systems is continuing business as usual."

So you are billing all 40 shipments? That is different as when I have done consolidation loads I would bill say Maplegate (as they are who we are referring) for 1 truckload. What do the 40 shipments of a consolidation have to do with you??

I think that Economy is the factoring company who represent the carriers that hauled the full loads from CA to ON (?). If they don't get paid, they would be looking to the brokers and or shippers who had the various LTL shipments on the consolidation trailers. At least that is my take on this situation.

You got that right LOADERS! Maple Gates actions of not paying the invoices for over 4 months will bring a lot of heat to involved but unaware parties. We are trying to alert those who dealt with Maple Gate and are present on this forum.

Reply to Rob: consolidated or not, carriers who hauled those 40 shipments have to be paid. As an agent, Maple Gate is refusing to disburse the payments, presenting unsubstantiated reasons not to pay 4 months after the billing. We a turning our attention to cargo owners as they are the ones who should control their agents to ensure carrier is paid. There about 40 shipments, 40 contacts of carriage, each cargo owner is responsible for their portion of the consolidated freight charge.
