Is it hard to find a outbound load from Canada side?

It is hard to believe that QC - ON pays so little (this is less than I would pay though), but unfortunately supply/demand on this lane is not in your favour.

Note, you could have said 'no' and not take the load you are now upset you took...

Just my 2 cents (1 cent on QC to ON shipments)....

Keep well,

Mike

Montreal to Toronto . People paid 450 for this, Is it fair? I can not survive with this kind of rates.

all depends what you go in for, I'm with Mike we only pay 50 bucks more but to Montreal we pay much more off course!

The best of luck in your new venture.

Lets see if this can help you:

It is better you started now than 1 year ago. Outbound freight from Quebec was in even shorter supply.

I see that you sometimes go to the USA and then do Toronto to Montreal.

You have to find one area and stick to it , this has been mentionned to you earlier.
If you are plated and insured to run the US , your operating costs are much higher than your competition that is plated and insured to run in Canada. Your insurance alone is probably double. Therefore you are not competitive on the onset. Plus Quebec unilingual driver from the East are paid much less than bilingual drivers running the US.

As for finding your own client or what is left of them will be brutal. You had better link up with a good freight broker that can keep you busy.

I always enjoy reading your posts. It has been very helpful to me and I think will also be helpful for everyone else reading the posts. I have been in this business for about 2 months, I had no idea what ACE was at that time when I started to run my first load. You and alot of people on this site offered me tons of information that I do need indeed. It has been tons of headaches for sure and I am still alive so far, offering OK service to shippers.

During this time, it is hard for me to find some regular routine loads from either a broker or shipper. I plan to run Toronto-->Montreal-->PA--->Toronto to avoid routes like Montreal-->Toronto. Could you guys advise me on this? Like what kind of rate that I should be looking for? Or everything else that I need to be aware of?

By the way, could I get someone's MSN to communicate better if that does not violate the forum's regulation.

Thank you.
