My customer is getting fed up with GFS throughout the USA and is asking if Sysco's throughout the USA might be a better delivery option. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I cant stand GFS......especially those numbskulls in Milton Ontario. I will cancel a load if we find out it's going to GFS in Milton.........they are useless. Appointment means nothing to them............I hope they cant find trucks during the crunch, they wont get one from us.

I agree with Gord. GFS in Delta, BC has a distribution facility and appointments mean nothing to them as well. Even with small LTL (4 skids) you can spend anywhere from 2-6 hours offloading there.

GFS in Rocky View, AB is pretty good. We've been there a few times and they've unloaded us early without an appt. as both times appt was booked for day after. Never dealt with the BC one but I do have a load going into DELTA, BC @GFS next week

I have been delivering to GFS in Houston, Wisconsin, Michigan, Taunton MA, and only once had waiting time in Houston and paid the carrier for that hour. I have been really impressed with their flexibility when delays occur. These are regular lanes for us.

Just spent 4 hours at SYSCO Foods 7055 Kennedy Rd Mississauga for 12 skids. 4 hours to deliver 12 skids......this is borderline criminal.

Sysco in Lakeside, NS changed appointment on an 8sk order 3 times last week, including once when the truck was in their yard. When we loaded on Friday appointment was Monday. Late Friday changed to Tuesday and when we arrived then then asked for Thursday. Brutal

Lesson learned, I guess.. It's not about them being interested or not. It's about you telling them how much your service cost you and them.. If you won't say - they won't know...

If there will be NEXT time, instead of paying storage charges from Monday through Thursday ( ouch), they will take your delivery on time scheduled originally with big smile and thank you..
Or, you will get paid accordingly..))
Good luck, eh..

It always sounds good in theory. Practical application often works out differently.

Don't give up without trying.. And GFS has own fleet too.. They would implement any charges they want...
As long as bill is paid, that's all counts...
