Feedback on Trans+Plus Dispatch Software

Hello Friends

We are thinking of switching of dispatch software. I got good feed back on Trans+Plus fleet manager. Could you please be kind enough to share your experience with this software and why you like it over any other product you have used in the past. We are thinking of using this for our LTL and brokerage division.
I would love to know how this handles LTL shipments?

We have had it since 2006 and do both LTL and TL. If I can use it anyone can. Customer support is great when I screw up too!!

I worked with TransPlus from 96-08...once Dave, the former owner got out of support, it was great. Powerful and accurate.
If I was large enough now I would have it.

Thanks for your Feedback. If you don't mind could I ask how many trucks you are running now?

We have used for years for dispatching trucks (FTL and LTL) and for freight brokering. System works well, lots of stuff behind the scenes like ACE & ACI which make our life easier. Connection to Shaw for satellite info is good. Overall I would definitely recommend.

We use transplus for a fleet of about 65 tractors...the best solution by far of any i have worked with in this industry. I've had the misfortune of working with too many of the "developed for a single client now being sold as standalone solution" to have patience with them anymore...they may be competitive on price, but their functionality is limited by the fact that they are designed for only one business model.

Thanks for your response. Do you do LTL? Could you please advise what do you like in transplus which you didn't find in other systems? Also if you could name the systems you are comparing transplus system I would really appreciate.

Thebluffs... the reality is all dispatch software started from one customer or, as is the case with my team, the software was built by a trucking company and it was successful enough to establish a separate, independent business around it. The trucking company now only serves as the bank. That's why we've been around for 10 years and will be for a long time.

The key to selecting a provider is industry credibility and understanding. It has to be installed quickly and not take up additional resources, it has to be easy to train and get the job done, and it has to be supported by people who become an extension of your tech department, guys who know EDI and know how to integrate with legacy 400 systems, TMW, tracking systems, wireless hardware and so on without blinking an eye.

If the cost is lower than the competition and the company is 100% Canadian, and the management are trucking vets, that's a bonus. Actually, its what everyone should expect from any technology provider these days.

If you are considering TMW...I did an implementation of that product at another place. Excellent support from TMW, but its because you need it. Very Complex, almost spiderweb like if you know what I mean. All reports must be customized in Crystal. Figure on a year for full functionality and understanding.

I mean TMW's TruckMate (Maddocks) and TotalMail and was referring to our experience. Of course if you use TMW for dispatching this is irrelevant. Our driver communication solution integrates with TMW Systems.

has anyone else experienced a significant deterioration in their level of service and an increase in the arrogance of their support and sales staff?

We were one of the first carriers to buy the Transplus system. They have always been good to deal with however like most companies as they grow it is difficult to maintain the same level of service. Especially successful software companies!.
It always amazes me that companies whose entire business is geared to one segment of industry (trucking) and yet their hours of operation do not even come close. It is very frustrating when you have a glitch at 5:01 pm on a Friday and the next tech than can do a 2 minute fix is not due in till 9:00am Monday.

We have used Trans+Plus Software for years now. I have found that they have been stumbling a bit as they work on the upgrade from VB to .NET. I'm sure that there are lots of challenges - especially in our industry where we have so many systems to be compliant in - ACE, ACI, integration with satellite, websites, fax servers, emails, finance systems etc. etc. I hope that once they get on track with their .NET upgrade they will be able to provide the ongoing service that needs to be addressed.

I have never had an issue with arrogance from their support staff but I don't call often with support issues unless they are show stoppers. I have found ways to usually figure it out.

After hours I call and leave a message. I also email support. I usually get an answer within an hour.

We have been a transplus customer for more than 15 years, and their unspeakable arrogance yet again seems to indicate their complete disregard for customers, and their perception that customers are completely unecessary for their continuation of their business.
I'm at my wit's end with them.

I would like to resurrect this thread to see if there is a solid new alternative software to Trans Plus as I am falling out of love with them.
