Getting quoted $3000 from Montreal, QC to Rhode Island for what was $1400 only a few months ago.
It's interesting to note that there is no more cheap freight of the day.

If you can be patient you'll likely get someone who can do it at you normal rate or close to it. Funny how some negotiations go lately.. had a load posted for $2500.00.. guy calls and says he can do it for $4200.00. Told him no thanks.. He asks "What CAN you do?".. I said $2500.00.. he sighs and says " ok, I'll take it".. :p

lol same here LTL to NC need 2000.00! we have 800....................ok we will do it

Not too long ago carriers were asking shippers/brokers for more money on loads. The answer was simply..."no". Shippers/brokers are now asking carriers for cheaper rates. The answer is simply..."no".

And yes...a very simplified and general way to view trucking nowadays. But this is what's going on...and we all knew the "flip" was coming in regards to capacity, drivers and volumes.

Interesting times indeed.
