DARCOL INTERNATIONAL - WINNIPEG BEWARE!

Darcol International booked a load with us and the pick up was made on time.
Paul contacted my customer to solicit business while in transit.
After numerous calls to Paul to get his side of the story.
They held the load hostage and were 4 days late delivering the load.
Paul is a very shady character and I would advise anybody NOT TO USE DARCOL INTERNATIONAL.

Anything current with Darcol with respect to service? They are actually given as good referrals in a couple other threads but this one doesn't look too good...but nothing current. Load pending.

i only have 1 invoice with them ever. # months ago and they paid at 47 days.

I haven't seen them used a lot on my freight over the years, but they have been on some and it was never a bad experience.

delivered about 8 loads into our facility, 2-4 days late on all of them.

on 13 shipments only late on 2 deliveries, all pickups on time, never really an issue, a decent carrier, would use again

I've known Paul for years... Never had a problem giving him freight or taking freight from him or getting paid.

LTL is late if the carrier does not make the parameters set out in the original discussion and load conformation.

If I was to take 2 skids from the bluffs and tell him I will pick today and deliver Thursday in Chicago and then not deliver them until next Tuesday is that not late??

Rob is right if the parameters are actually spelled out.

When lawyers sat down to craft the wording for the first Bill of Lading, they didn't include the words "due dispatch" to be used as an excuse for poor service. Due dispatch means you do everything possible to complete the contract. Again, it all comes down to "say what you will do, and then do what you said".

I have been dealing with them for about 13 years and they do great work. The odd time they end up a couple days late but so does every carrier if you use them often enough. They're pretty good at communicating any sort of delay or issue with the shipment.

I think that when we are acting as brokers, part of our job is to act as a buyer and set a realistic expectation ... or SMART goals if you will. So there is 2 sides to the story ... while I believe that one should do what they say they'll do (meaning if the transaction looks for a 3 day interval, make sure it's achievable -- from a carrier standpoint), and from a buyer standpoint, know that you get what you pay for ... set a realistic expectation on how quickly an LTL shipment should deliver, for example.

To let everyone know... Darcol strikes again... Holding 2 of my loads hostage until I send a certified check for 13800$

Paul the owner... is rude and takes advantage where ever he can
they screwed up big and I guess were worried we weren't going to pay them... This was the first time I had ever used them... and the last.

We DNU’d them last year after taking Freight and handing it back 3 times in a 4 week period. Don’t know what’s up with them, but certainly not trustworthy
