Anyone heard any stories about this guy? He runs under Peak Transport also and has gone under a few years back under Raj Transport.

I was thinking about driving for them but another driver who used to work there told me not too. That is why I asked.

I decided to work elsewhere as a driver told me they do not pay their drivers and he had to take them to the labour board.

Thinking about going to work for Trappers or Arnold. Lots of jobs available but the pay is low. Aikam offered me 34 cents a mile, lol. I have had my Class 1 for 8 months now. Don't want to run the US anymore. Can't make any money with the E-logs HOS.

I would call Graphic Transportation, nobody knows much about them but I drove there for a while and it was really good, Canada only.

Some forward thinking carriers running the Canada-US are rethinking how they pay their drivers. There are other posts here about hourly pay vs mileage. Drivers willing to run the US, short or long haul are in high demand. I met a carrier we do some work with yesterday that explained to me they had a company meeting (all drivers, all levels of management and all dispatchers) where they were concerned about this exact issue. The long haul drivers making higher levels of income than the shorter haul drivers and so individuals would want only the long haul, not the short haul moves despite it meaning they have more home time. In the end, they determined the best way to keep drivers happy and to keep service levels up on short haul customer needs was to offer all drivers a 'minimum income'. The number was extremely high in my opinion, but I don't have trucks so what do I know. I believe they employ owner operators and also can set up the o/o with trucks, so I'm sure there is a chunk of cash needed to be set aside for truck payments, etc...

PM me if interested, I'll give you a name and number.

Keep well,
Mike

BIGGE we've been on ELD's for almost 3 years and we had at least 10 open board drivers making well over 80K and home every weekend. These are guys/girl that know how to make money driving. This year it will be even more as we will be raising our pay scale again. I'm saying ELD's are not the problem.

ELD is not the problem it's some drivers who are still in learning stage and don't know how to utilize there hours. Then again sometimes it's while live loading and unloading is where they loose hours. That's why most of the companies are offering drop and hook.

Been awhile since I have been on here but Aikam went broke a few years ago again. Lots of drivers got burned.
