Has anyone, brokers or carriers, come across this outfit? They appear to be an on-line freight quote operation. One of our regular shippers has been quoted by them and the rates are not even close to being realistic. Curious to know if anyone has any experience with them.

The premise behind it is that it allows small buyers to get pricing on one-offs that would be better than normal due to volume buying.

There are a few players out there that do this on small package and small LTL ... giving 70% off tariff to buyers who can only get 50. I'm not sure how well the model will work with contract LTL and truckload transportation though.

We've come across this type of competition very often, but most of the time if you choose a weird city in Canada the rates are way too high.

This is just another competitor cutting prices, customers usually end up coming back due to lack of service or lack of communication.

As they don't appear to operate any trucks of their own, who is actually hauling their freight? Are there any members of this site that have worked as a carrier for these people?

* We have never worked with this outfit before and have no plans on doing so *

Shipcanada.ca is a subsidiary of another broker I work with. When you call them, it says so on their greeting, but for the life of me cannot remember which broker.
Whoever it is, they pay their bills, or else it would stick out in my mind more.
Hows that for vague?
