So, the majority of the members here are either carriers or brokers.

Also, there are little to no barriers for a carrier to act as a broker, they inform their clients that some of their shipments will not travel on their equipment and then reach out to other carriers to assist with the lanes they don't service. Yes, they are to open a separate trust account for that business.

The example Freight Management Team describes above sounds very much like double brokering. Carrier gives his load to FMT and they inturn, Broker it to another carrier. Is there some part of this “duck” that I am missing?
