No legitimate business owner would want to hide behind a PO box address... Why can't you provide a physical address to your customers ? Simple reason is you cheat people and never want to face them again !

Brokers and Carriers stay away from these crooks. The owners here are absolute duechebags and will do anything to get your money.
They were caught double brokering and failed to provide answers and later did not pay the carriers. On one instance they even blackmailed the driver and threatened to have him arrested when he was refusing to deliver the shipment unless provided the promised COD.

Sukh, Raj, Manpreet - you guys can change your company names but not your faces. An apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. No matter what company you open and close your bad habits will always accompany you no matter you operate in Surrey, Langley, Edmonton, Bakersfield..

Thanks for posting this. Googling "Robust Transport" brought up your post...gave me a different side of the story on this company. They are looking to work with us in Calgary, but I think we will steer clear after reading this.

Can you share any more details on them? I'd appreciate it,

They also have a company called "Roots Transport". I would suggest you stay away . I did a load from them and it took 6 months to get paid. The cheque they sent me bounced so I had to goto their office which is the basement of some house in abbotsford to get another cheque. Just a bunch of losers

There are actually legit reasons to have a PO Box rather than a physical address.

I worked for a company that was growing... Started in a house... moved to a small office... moved to a little bigger office... then a unit in an industrial plaza... then to two or three units in another industrial plaza and then to a freestanding building.

Rather than have mail mis-routed, re-print business cards... we opted to go for a PO Box - It made sense. Customers and vendors aren't always the best at updating their systems.

Most carriers do not start out in a 40 door cross dock facility.

Not everyone is 'hiding' behind a PO Box. Nor should that be your measuring stick to determine if a company is legit or not.

Absolutely correct. We have used a PO box at the local Canada Post for years. If someone wants to make a personal visit, we are happy to provide them with our physical address. Actually, our new offices are pretty fancy, if I do say so myself! That's what happens when you let your wife and daughter get involved with the decorating! An "old school" guy like myself, could get by with a wobbly desk, a dial phone, a stack of blank paper and a handful of pencils. Now we look like a branch office for Google, or Microsoft, with the corresponding monthly rental charges! Lol.

It's part of our approval process that they need to provide a verifiable address if the want to use a PO Box, then if they will not supply one then it's an issue.

We don't deal with people that have PO boxes unless they are on the Fortune 500 list......there is a % of freight brokers that use PO boxes to hide behind, knowing eventually when they go out of business it won't get messy around the office with carriers looking for their money. Show yourselves, you aren't Colgate Palmolive give people your address!

Here is the situation that we have to deal with, and perhaps it applies to others as well. Our offices are located in a building with 3 or 4 other businesses. Although there are well positioned numbers indicating each individual unit, our friends at Canada Post can never seem to deliver the right mail to the right unit. I certainly don't want to depend on the promptness of our neighbours to hand over our mail if it ends up at the wrong unit. For simplicity, and to ensure we receive our carriers invoices as soon as possible (the few old timers that don't send them electronically), we use a PO box at the local Postal Station. In addition, we always need to drop outgoing mail off at Canada Post, so this way we can get "two birds" with one trip. Perhaps there maybe some less reputable firms that use a PO box for the nefarious purposes Gord M described, but they would be in the minority in my opinion.

Simple solution is to have a PO Box for mailing purposes and an easily verifiable bricks and mortar address as well. A PO Box address is fine, but if no physical address can be found then that might raise suspicion.

Freight Broker that is our opinion exactly no issues with the PO Box but need a physical address also when we need to send in the muscle.

Attn: Kenworthking,

i would like you to email me and bring to my attention the invoice/load you weren't paid for. as for double brokerage please email me and we can discuss. if there was a carrier that was short paid or wasn't paid it must has to do with service failures or some other reason.

please bring this to my attention as you have my email.

regards

I've been to too many post office boxes looking for a check over the years, any company that doesn't have a physical address doesn't get credit.

After my November post, was contacted by Robust who said to send him the details of the outstanding and he would look into it right away.
Needless to say, I am still waiting.
